Photos: Voters' signs do the talking for themBy Phillip Jackson, Phoenix Every American knows the economy tanked before President Obama took office. When he took office, I had already explored refinancing my home mortgage that was about $60,000 under water, but I could not since no government programs existed. Obama came to Phoenix and introduced the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 in February. I looked into the act to see if I could refinance and regain some of the lost funds. However, because I was current on my mortgage note, I could not apply, and ended up selling my home for $110,000 less than I bought it. Is this fair to the hard working people of America that don't ask for government hand-outs or use their union power to ask for a 4 percent raise when the rest of us are struggling? I didn't think so. It's time for a change this November.
