Utah elementary school evacuated after suspicious device found Posted: 22 Apr 2013 04:36 PM PDT By Laura Zuckerman (Reuters) - Nearly 800 students and teachers were evacuated from a suburban Utah elementary school on Monday after a custodian found a pipe bomb on the roof, a school official said. No one was injured and police detonated the bomb using a high-pressure water cannon at Mountain View Elementary School in Layton, about 25 miles north of Salt Lake City, said school district spokesman Christopher Williams. New York City aims to ban cigarette sales to under 21s Posted: 22 Apr 2013 12:41 PM PDT By Edith Honan NEW YORK (Reuters) - New York City took the first step on Monday in outlawing sales of cigarettes to anyone under age 21, in an effort to reduce smoking among the age group in which most smokers take up the habit. The bill, which was introduced by the City Council and has the backing of Mayor Michael Bloomberg, would make New York City, which already has the highest cigarette taxes in the nation, the first big city or state to set the smoking age at 21.
