(Reuters) - U.S. Army Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl, a former Taliban prisoner in Afghanistan, was formally charged on Wednesday with desertion and misbehavior before the enemy, and could be sentenced to life in prison if convicted of the most serious count, the Army said. Bergdahl's attorney, Eugene Fidell of Yale Law School, said the Army had scheduled an Article 32 investigation hearing on April 22 to determine whether there was sufficient evidence to proceed with a court-martial. The Army said the investigation, similar to a civilian grand jury proceeding, would take place at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas.


Tornadoes hit Oklahoma and Arkansas, damaging structures

OKLAHOMA CITY (Reuters) - A storm system produced at least three tornadoes in Arkansas and Oklahoma on Wednesday, downing power lines and causing damage to structures, officials said. There have been no immediate reports of major injuries or deaths. A tornado was spotted in Moore, Oklahoma, local media reports said. The Oklahoma City suburb was hit by a tornado in 2013 that killed 24 and injured more than 300. Police in the Tulsa suburb of Sand Springs said mobile homes were tipped over by a tornado that has left large parts of the area without power. ...

A Federal Bureau of Investigation special agent described sorting through a debris-filled room that was "like a construction site" in the Tsarnaevs' cramped three-bedroom apartment in Cambridge, Massachusetts, just outside Boston, four days after the deadly bombing on April 15, 2013. There were tools in there, lots of debris," testified FBI Special Agent Christopher Derks, who led the apartment search. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 21, is accused of killing three people and injuring 264 with a pair of homemade pressure-cooker bombs packed with nails and BB pellets at the race's crowded finish line.

Lamb said no other suspects were being sought and that the Wisconsin Department of Justice was leading the investigation. David Matthews, the administrator of the justice department's criminal investigation division, said it was too early to provide additional information about the shooting.
