Greyhound Lines said 49 people were aboard the bus, which was traveling from Albuquerque to Phoenix, Arizona. A spokeswoman, Crystal Booker, deferred comment to state police regarding the crash. |

Security camera catches speeding Tesla going airborne after hitting railroad tracks Posted: 29 Aug 2018 03:42 PM PDT Teslas are well known for their acceleration, but flying? A Canadian man caught some serious air after speeding over a railroad crossing in Barrie, Canada, on Tuesday at around 8 p.m. local time. A security camera happened to catch the incident, and holy crap. SEE ALSO: Elon Musk opens up about the personal toll Tesla is taking on him The 46-year-old driver "became airborne and crashed over 100 feet into the opposing lane," according to Barrie Today. The Tesla skidded after landing, and eventually hit a tree in a parking lot. Considering Teslas are, you know, not supposed to fly, it's not surprising that the four-door vehicle, which appears to be a sedan, was totaled. The exact model was not released. Global News reports that the driver of the vehicle was charged with dangerous driving, and was treated at the hospital for minor injuries along with a passenger. Thankfully, no other vehicles were involved. Teslas are relatively heavy cars thanks to the electric battery, so it's safe to say that the vehicle's impressive acceleration capabilities did help the vehicle go airborne, though given the charges it appears that police are blaming the driver. Here's what the driver saw before liftoff: Image: screenshot/google mapsA Redditor who claims to live in the area said it's quite easy to get airborne on the tracks: "I live near here and you literally just need to be going 30 to get air. The guy is a moron." WATCH: Say goodbye to your crutches with this hands-free alternative |
Judge gives U.S. more time to decide on retrying Manafort on deadlocked charges Posted: 30 Aug 2018 12:55 PM PDT U.S. prosecutors have more time to decide whether to retry former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort on 10 criminal charges that a jury deadlocked on last week, a judge ordered on Thursday. U.S. District Judge T. S. Ellis delayed the deadline for Special Counsel Robert Mueller to make the decision until one week after Ellis rules on any post-trial motions that Manafort may submit. The original deadline had been Wednesday, which prosecutors said would be difficult to meet because Manafort's lawyers had requested a 30-day extension to file their post-trial motions. |

U.N. fears chemical weapons in Syria battle with '10,000 terrorists' Posted: 30 Aug 2018 06:34 AM PDT The United Nations called on Russia, Iran and Turkey on Thursday to forestall a battle in Syria's Idlib province which would affect millions of civilians and could see both militants and the government potentially using chlorine as a chemical weapon. U.N. Syria envoy Staffan de Mistura said there was a high concentration of foreign fighters in Idlib, including an estimated 10,000 fighters designated by the U.N. as terrorists, who he said belonged to the al-Nusra Front and al Qaeda. |

In March, documents emerged detailing military plans to impose martial law against protesters demanding the ouster of Moon's predecessor Park Geun-hye last year, but Song failed to report them to the presidential Blue House. |

"Our stance is clear and I want to say sharply that we don't accept any resolutions conducted by the Human Rights Council," the main government spokesman, Zaw Htay, said in an interview published in state media. Man who threatened to ‘shoot Boston Globe reporters in the head’ arrested by FBI Posted: 30 Aug 2018 10:27 AM PDT A man in California has been arrested by the FBI after allegedly threatening to murder Boston Globe reporters and echoing the rhetoric of President Donald Trump by calling the press the "enemy of the people". Sixty-eight-year-old Robert Chain, of Encino, reportedly began calling the offices of the Boston newspaper on 10 August, when the newspaper announced that it would publish an editorial — alongside dozens of other news outlets — pushing back on the president's labelling of the media as enemies of the people. Mr Trump, in response, tweeted even more attacks, and targeted the Globe specifically in those tirades. |
